Helena caught that glimpse of Dorian not being able to make connections easily. And at this current moment in time, she didn't really see how she was remarkable, but there were extenuating circumstances in that regard. Clearly she could be forgiven for not thinking highly of herself in any fashion at the current moment.

After they arrived at the hotel, Helena got out of the carriage and waited until he came back out. She followed Dorian to their room, then gave the coachman her thanks as well before moving into the room. She glanced around the room briefly, then turned back to Dorian. Helena was tired, but she wasn't yet ready to sleep.

"Will we be able to reach where we are going tomorrow?" Obviously meaning by sunrise the next day.
