feellikeibelong: (019 - Never as we think it should be)

The half hour had seemed like an eternity to her. In that eternity, she'd contemplated putting the pistol to her head and pulling the trigger, but she hadn't. The heart was a fickle thing, and if he was in fact a liar and had lied to her from the beginning, then how could they possibly ever have a relationship? Perhaps she really was stupid for coming to find him. Perhaps she should've let him go off and do whatever he pleased and then let herself sink into grief and despair. After all, if she'd died, he probably wouldn't have cared, if he'd even hear of her passing.

She jumped to her feet when she heard the knock, then took a deep breath to try and steady herself. "Do not worry," she responded. Though her voice had more of a dead tone to it than it had before, evidence to the thoughts that had been going through her mind. She watched him lay down the explosive with passing interest, and she kept a safe distance from it. At least for the moment. She had her pistol clutched in her hand, ready to use if the need arose. "I assume that you found the murderer?" It was obvious he was laying a trap. Or else he was going to kill both of them then and there.
