She'd heard stories of such things, but Helena hadn't put much stock in them. Yet at the same time, such things could account for so much that happened. Still, Helena was the type to not believe something until it was proven true to her. While she didn't have a degree or the proper education in the sciences, she was a scientist at heart in that way. Watching him pull the daggers out and slide them into place, it was obvious he'd done this before. And given the way he was collecting the weapons, he'd done this many times before.
When he told her to use her gun to protect the door, she knew she wasn't going with him. She didn't exactly like that arrangement as she wanted to be there to watch the murderer die. "Why can I not come with to watch them die?" Perhaps he was trying to protect her, perhaps there was something about the entire situation she wasn't supposed to know. Whatever the reason, she still wanted to be part of it, to witness it and know the murderer wouldn't take anyone else's family away from them. Still, she told him where a good chemist was, one that would no doubt have what he was looking for. She of course knew all the chemists in the area, and some were decidedly better stocked than others.
Though she realized he wasn't looking at her, and she wasn't completely certain why. Perhaps it was because of what he was going to do, and finally seek his vengeance. "For our sake, I wish this to end tonight." And if it did, then what else did she have to live for? Life was breaking her, and a passing thought of taking her own life crossed her mind. There was a certain appeal to it.
She fingered the clippings for some moments before she handed them to him, still not putting the pieces together because she wasn't in her right mind. "These fell out when you were gathering things," she said, getting another glimpse inside his trunk. The contents were curious, but she wasn't going to intrude on them. At least not while he was there.
