A more logical timeline
Okay because the writers of Warehouse 13 have several discrepancies in Helena's timeline, I've worked out a timeline of how things went that make the most sense to me. After all, in the world of the show, being brought before the Regents is a serious offense, and given Helena was bronzed in 1900 and the initial mention of Christina's death was in 1899, having a year in which Helena abused Artifacts, built a time machine from scratch and tracked down her daughter's killers and tortured and killed them is EXTREMELY unrealistic to me. So I've reorganized the timeline based on other canon mentions, and made it far more logical to me.
Christina was killed in 1891, and as she was eight when that incident occurred, this puts Helena at the age of 17 when she had her. Which is still believable for both the late Victorian era and Helena's character. Soon after the murder, she learned that she'd somehow traveled through time and become Sophie trying to save her daughter. This is what prompted her to start scouring the Warehouse for artifacts. After she tracked down the murderers and killed them all horribly. Time started to pass and she grew more intent on finding something and she became more and more focused on changing the past. 1893 is when she was first caught and brought before the Regents and given a reprieve. But she went right back to scouring the shelves, looking for any artifact that had something to do with time travel. It was around 1896 when she was caught for the second time and brought before the Regents and given yet another reprieve. It was soon after this that she got the idea for her time machine and she began working on it. It wasn't ready for a couple years, given she had a lot of things to work out and try before there was success. But finally in 1898, she'd managed to travel back in time to the day Christina was killed, but she was unable to change the course of events. After returning, she was increasingly more distraught about everything and set about desperately trying to find an artifact to set things right. In her increasingly distraught emotional state, Helena became more and more reckless in her pursuit of something to undo what had been done. Everything culminated when her recklessness resulted in the death of a fellow agent. For the third time, she was brought before the Regents, and this time she asked to be bronzed and they said yes. This happened in 1900.
